Jaw Pain

Jaw Pain also called Temporomandibular joint disorder refers to a painful dysfunction of your jaw’s temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Responsible for opening and closing your jaw, the TMJ is the joint that connects your lower jaw bone (your mandible) to the temporal portion of your skull.

Problems with the TMJ can produce a wide variety of symptoms, ranging from pain in and around the joint while chewing, headache in the temple area, popping, clicking or locking of the joint when you attempt to chew, stiffness of the jaw muscles and pain that radiates into the face and neck.
