Adjustments are a highly effective form of mechanical therapy used to treat problems of the neck, back, arms and legs. Applied to a joint that’s fixated, “locked up”, or not moving properly, adjustments help return the bones to a more normal position or motion, reducing pain and restoring body’s natural healing.
Occasionally an adjustment may cause a popping or cracking sound related to the cavitation of the joint. The sounds are unconsequential. In fact, with some techniques there is never a sound.
Chiropractors use many techniques to provide an adjustment. Most adjustment techniques provided by Dr. Fred and Dr. Kathleen involve the use of their hands (manual adjustment techniques), but the doctors are also trained in non-manual, or instrumentation-based adjustments. If you’ve been to other chiropractors and have found a certain technique more to your liking than another, please let Dr. Fred or Dr. Kathleen know. They have experience with many techniques.
